The best Torrontes seems to come from the cooler/higher altitude vineyards in Argentina and this Tupungato example is no exception. The wine is very intense on the nose with tremendous tropical, almost muscat-like notes of lychee, blood oranges, jasmine and mango. The palate is medium bodied with a crisp, slightly bitter backbone and a fresh fruit-salad finish. This is a wine with lots of broad appeal which avoids the trap of excess sweetness. Drink now to 4 years.
