2013 was a fabulous year in Marlborough and most of the fruit for this wine comes from the โAwatereโ Valley which tends to give a racy purity often lacking in wines from the Wairau. Intense notes of gooseberries and pear with nettles, flint and herbal nuances jump from the glass. The palate is medium to full bodied with a lovely textural element present due to partial barrel fermentation. The wine is vibrant and youthful, drinking beautifully now. Drink now to 2018.
