The grapes for this wine come from a single vineyard from the south end of the Okanagan Valley just north of Osoyoos. The grapes were hand harvested, destemmed and lightly crushed before fermentation in open vats. The must was hand plunged, and then basket pressed into French and American oak barriques. It was then matured for 12 months prior to bottling.
This wine shows classic cool-climate Syrah notes of cracked black pepper, violets, blueberries, charcuterie and toasty oak. The palate is soft and rich with a black fruit core and a long vanilla and cranberry finish. This is an excellent food wine with the restrained balance to pair well with red meats, hard cheeses or smoked meat dishes. Drink 2016-2025.
