Spier 5 Creative Block 2012 (Merlot, Cab. Sauv, Cab. Franc., Malbec, Petit Verdot)

This is a classic blend of Bordeaux’s five red varietals. The softness of Merlot, the structure and cassis of Cab. Sauv., the high toned aromas of Cab. Franc, the floral black fruit of Malbec and the colour and tannins of Petit Verdot all expressed in a glass. The wine shows medium to high intensity black fruit and earth aromas, combined with full body and robust structure. The wine is just starting to open up but would reward further cellaring.
