Solabal Winery – Solabal Crianza 2007

This is a wine coming from low yielding, old vines on the border of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. It’s a traditional blend of predominantly Tempranillo with some Graciano and Mazuelo. Aged for 18 months in French and American oak it definitely over delivers quality at the Crianza level. Flavours of chocolate, vanillin oak, black berries, and aniseed round out this modern style. The oak is prominent on the palate with massive fruit weight to balance it. Great wine with huge international appeal. Drink now to 10 years.
