This winery has risen to become one of the pre-eminent red wine producing estates in South Africa. This wine shows high intensity aromas of dates, prunes, figs, plums and earth. The palate is very full bodied, with quite prominent, yet well integrated tannins. The years in bottle have mellowed the texture of the wine and also given it a leathery complexity and rancio finish.
