Hope everyone is gearing up for a great Canada Day long weekend!
Our wines from Spain are all on the water and en-route to Canadian soil.
The wines coming to Ontario and those going to Western Canada take very different routes from Spain.
For the wines coming to Ontario, they depart from Barcelona and head straight across the Atlantic until reaching Halifax. This journey takes approximately 2 weeks. From there, the wines clear customs and are transported to the LCBO warehouse by train and/or truck. They are then processed by the LCBO before being released, and these final stages can take anywhere from 3-5 weeks.
For our wines heading to Alberta and British Columbia it is a much longer journey. From Barcelona the wines cross the Atlantic while heading south, pass through the Panama Canal and then back north ending in Vancouver. This route generally takes 28-35 days. Once the wines arrive at port in Vancouver, they clear customs, and are then processed by the liquor boards. The wines for Alberta are trucked from Vancouver port to the Alberta Liquor Board warehouse where they are processed.
Check back in a couple of weeks for details on when we expect to start sending wines out to members.
Marcus and Rachel are currently seeking out some more great wines in Washington State for our Fall Offering!
