This single vineyard wine comes from the eastern slopes of the central Okanagan Valley just outside of Kelowna. These old vines produced a small but intense crop of grapes with the perfect balance of ripeness and acidity for this reserve style of Chardonnay. The grapes were lightly basket pressed into a combination of 50% new French oak barriques and 50% second fill French oak barriques. Fermentation and maturation for 12 months ensured, with a combination of wild and cultured yeasts, regular lees stirring but no malolactic fermentation. The wine is rich of opulent with notes of lemon zest, nectarine, white truffles, hazelnuts and dusty oak. The palate is full bodied, with intense citrus and stone fruit, a viscous, yet restrained mouthfeel and a vibrantly crisp finish. Would pair well with white meats, buttery seafood and smoked salmon based dishes. Designed for medium term cellaring. Drink 2015-2023.
