The nose shows flavours of licorice, chocolate and plums…avoiding the trap of being “jammy” as often seen in the appellation. The palate is full bodied yet moderate in alcohol, with medium to high acidity, viscous mouthfeel, soft tannins and a long fennel–like finish. Fruit comes from the famed Rockpile A.V.A with 1500 ft elevation and low yielding dry grown vines. Cellar 2-8 years
