Well, the Hemispheres team has had a very busy couple of weeks promoting the new upcoming wines from McLaren Vale, South Australia. It all started at the Toronto Wine & Cheese show where we were pouring a sampling of the wines. Not only was this the first time we were showcasing these wines to the Canadian public, it was the first time our team was able to try them in Canada. The response was so overwhelming that we ran out of wine well before the end of the show despite bringing twice as much as we had anticipated. Perhaps the reason for this demand was that several consumers were coming back multiple times to re-taste the wines, as they thought they were the best at the show.
The following weekend was the much-anticipated Launch Party for our Ontario Members in Toronto at the Old Mill Inn. I always like an excuse to dress up, and the guys at HWG all shined up quite nice too. This event proved to be a real success and the 150 members; guests; wine aficionados and media all had a fantastic time. Those in attendance were able to sample the wines with food pairings, listen to some fantastic Jazz from The Diplomats, and enjoy the company of new and old friends. I have personally been to many wine events and this was by far the most pleasurableโฆperhaps because we have the finest members! Our wine expert Marcus Ansems went through each McLaren Vale wine and did a food pairing which complimented the relationship between the wine and food. We had draws for wine; framed pictures of Australia and New Zealand; a membership and each of our members went home with a bottle of our ultra-premium wine.
Although we are all exhausted after a crazy few weeks, we are also very excited. Having the wines here and enjoying them with our members makes it all worthwhile. A couple of weeks from now you (our members) will have McLaren Vale wines arrive at your doorstep and we canโt wait to hear what you all think of these extraordinary wines, we know you wonโt be disappointed! I know I am thrilled that we only have a couple more weeks to wait until we can fill our cellar and fridge and share a bottle or two over dinner with our friends and family, after all that really is what itโs all about!
