Pommerol is arguably one of the greatest appellations in all of Bordeaux, and in 2010 the results from this Right Bank powerhouse were spectacular. This vineyard has a high portion of gravel soils with a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is extremely dark in colour, with high viscosity and a youthful purple veil. The bouquet is intense with prominent ripe black fruit, pencil shavings, dusty new oak and violet high tones. The palate is unctuous and mouthfilling with underlying minerality and a long dusty finish. Drink now to 10 years.
