This 20 Ha vineyard has been owned by the Chavelard family since 1665, and is comprised of 52% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Semillon and 22% Muscadelle. This is a classic example of the white Bordeaux style and it received a gold medal at the prestigious Concours de Bordeaux competition. Grapes were harvested, blended and fermented in barriques for 12 months with regular lees stirring. The nose shows bright citrus notes, with herbal nuances and creamy oak complexity. The palate is medium bodied and dry, showing bright acidity consistent with the cooler 2011 vintage. Drink now to 4 years.
