The La Liviniere sub appellation of Minervois has steadily been gaining reputation as a world class red wine terroir. This is a blend of extremely low yielding old vine Syrah (90%) with old bush vine Grenache (10%) grown at altitude at the base of the Black Mountains. Inky black, it promises concentration and delivers just that. The aromas are somewhat rustic with notes of black fruits, cherries, blackberries and leather. The palate is highly structured, with weighty fruit, noticeable oak and a firm grained tannin finish. A serious wine with good ageing potential. 92 points. Cellar 4-12 years
