This vineyard is located in the โBridge Pa Triangleโ sub region of Hawkes Bay. The soil structure consists of loam over red gravels. This means that only in the best years, with severe crop thinning can Syrah ripen sufficiently to produce a stunning wine. 2007 was just such a year. The bouquet is intense and spicy with white pepper, sage and black berries prominent. The palate is medium to full bodied with tight structure, a core of black fruit and solid oak. The finish is long and balanced with medium to high acid. An exciting wine. Cellar 2-12 years. 95 points.
