Bellingham Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2014, Coastal Region

Ernie Els Sauvignon Blanc 2015

43 year old vines from 3 sites at higher elevations were picked for this offering. The wines were fermented in 300l and 500l barrels and aged on lees for 12 months to increase complexity. The bouquet shows ripe notes of peach, honeydew melon, pineapple and toasty vanillin oak. The palate is full bodied with rich, barrel and stone fruit notes and a nutty complexity. This wine had typical Chenin Blanc crispness yet is unctuous and full flavoured. This wine drinks well unaccompanied or would go well with creamy sauces, roasted poultry or lighter game meats. Drink now to 2022.
