2016 Staete Landt Map Maker, Pinot Noir, Marlborough New Zealand

Two varieties stand out in Marlborough, one is obvious, and the other is Pinot Noir. This is a very solid expression with notes of cherries, sage, strawberries, attractive chocolately oak and smoky toast nuances. The palate is medium bodied with a balanced blend of savoury flavours and black fruit complexity. Try with duck confit. Drink now to 2025.
