Despite its maturity this wine has been very slow to develop, perhaps due to the screwcap? Its nose shows a modern take on this variety with aromas of cassis, blackberry, black cherry and tobacco. The palate is suitably structured with trademark tannic intensity and a black fruit core. This wine is slightly atypical but well made and interesting. Would benefit from decanting. Try with a good Ribeye steak and frites. Drink now to 2025.
